Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Center

We completed the first section of this 460 bed nursing home in 1988. The project consisted of 55,000 square feet of adaptive reuse of an existing elementary school as well as 100,000 square feet of new construction. This initial phase included 300 beds and a 60 slot Adult Day Healthcare Program. The later addition, a $30 million 135,000 square foot expansion we completed in 2000 added 160 new beds, sub-acute care specialty units including 40 beds for ventilator dependency, increased the capacity of their Adult Day Healthcare Program to 120, provided more extensive outpatient services including an expanded diagnostic and treatment clinic, and increased their Home Healthcare operations in order to provide a continuum of care to members of the community. We also designed a Child Daycare Center within the facility, as well as interior alterations to the original 300 bed resident pavilion.
